Does the job

4 out of five for well built but very basic: just a metal drum with a handle. I like the length, which covers the full depth of a drednaught, and the heft for balance with the drill motor attached, but it doesn't come with anything: no instructions or user tips, and no pattern for the sandpaper -- not a huge problem, but unnecessary extra step to make a pattern for the paper if you decide you need or want one. I'll probably just stick it to the drum then trim the ends. Initially, I figured that trimming each piece would be wasteful with expensive PSA paper because of the long taper at each end, but then I realized that since the paper has to be PSA, it has to be peeled off and the sander cleaned of residue in order to change grits, so I won't be changing paper very often. Starting to see the benefit of replaceable drums and being able to attach dust collection, which this cannot... I'll figure out some way to connect dust collection to the stationary handle.
So I went from excited to "meh". I guess at the price compared to the competition, I could get a couple of them, one for each grit... and a better dust mask. Oh well, Git 'er'dun... I'll probably use this for initial leveling then use PSA paper on PVC tubes by hand for the final grits. Yup.
