Guyker string retainer

Installation was easy and it performs just as I hoped. My guitar’s D string was making contact with the A string tuning peg, as well as going through the nut slot at an extreme angle. The string retainer corrected the problem and allows the string to pass through the nut slot without any binding. I also installed one on the other side of the head for balance. I’m very satisfied with my purchase.

Great value and easy to install

I had been searching for a solution to the frustrating string angles on my Gibson-style guitars. The D and G strings were particularly problematic, causing tuning instability. I was seriously considering the String Butler, despite its high price tag, as it seemed to be the most popular solution.

However, just before I made that expensive purchase, I discovered the Guyker string retainers. I realized they offered a similar result for a much better value, and I could even get multiple sets for less than the cost of a single String Butler. I've since installed them on my '82 Yamaha Studio Lord SL-550s and an Epiphone Adam Jones '79 Silverburst, and I've been extremely pleased with the improved tuning stability. My '83 Gibson Spirit II and Les Paul Classic and Studio are next in line for this upgrade, as soon as I'm due for a string change. This has been a fantastic, cost-effective fix for a long-standing issue.

Solves common tuning issue

Gibson D & G strings always seem to go out of tune before the other strings but I haven’t noticed this happening since installing these string retainers. Also, the way you string a Gibson always messed with my OCD lol! The symmetry is very satisfying.
